My 4th of July weekend was AMAZING! My friends at Fossil Rim Wildlife Center invited me and my family to visit their rhinos and be in the Granbury, TX parade. This was a July 4th parade honoring heros, and I was on the Fossil Rim Jeep as the Young Conservation Hero! They even announced, "Jax invites you to Fossil Rim", as we went through the town square. It was so Cool!

We stayed at the Fossil Rim Lodge. This place is AWESOME! It was like being on an African Safari. The next day, I got to ride down to the Black Rhino barns and pet and feed them. Then we went to pick up some hay and feed the White Rhinos. After that I got to see my good friend Dr. Condy. We talked about rhinos and other animals. I even learned that Dr. Condy had a pet rhino in South Africa when he was my age! Thank you Wally & Jan, Donna, Chad, Adam, Gerri, and especially Dr. Condy and Jennifer Davis for making this an unbelievable adventure that I will never forget!

Words cannot describe how beautiful this place is, and how important their work is to our world. So, you will just have to visit and see for yourself...

Jax invites you to Fossil Rim!

WOW! I had the best weekend ever!! We drove up to the Dallas, TX area to attend the 2011 IRKA Rhino Keepers Workshop. My parents surprised me and my sister with a stay over at the Great Wolf Lodge. That place is AMAZING! It has an indoor waterpark and our room had a cave with bunkbeds! We had a BLAST! The next morning we drove to Glen Rose Expo Center for the Rhino Keeper Workshop. It was so COOL to meet people from all over the world who not only care about rhinos as much as I do, but they actually take care of rhinos every day! I was so proud to be able to hand Dr. Ellis $550 that I raised for the IRF in the last two weeks selling my rhino wristbands. But the best part of the whole weekend was when I realized that I was the meeting spotlight of the whole 3-day workshop! I was so honored, I even teared up a little, (but not as much as my parents did). They gave me and my sister gifts, gave a presentation on my fundraising efforts, and even let me officially open the meeting!! I will never forget this weekend, and I will never give up on RHINOS! Thank you, all my rhino friends, for making me feel so special.
